Ducks should be ideally kept with access to running water such as a stream or river. A pond is suitable, although you will need to pump the water out regularly to clean it.

Most breeds with a little preparation can live happily in domestic gardens. Duck eggs are larger and richer than chickens' eggs which makes them popular with cooks. Ducks are becoming more and more popular because of their social character and versatility. They eat kitchen scraps and garden pests and are generally good pets. They are naturally very resistant to disease and don't require much looking after.

Whether you’re just starting to keep ducks or have an established flock, at Westaway, we can offer everything you need; housing, bedding and feed. We offer two popular varieties of duck which are very easy to keep:

Cayuga

Pekin
